Sku: 10940

 Wine Spectator 89 points (Jul 31 2015)
Fresh and full of lively fruit, with aromas of raspberry and smoky cinnamon leading to supple, sleek flavors of cherry, licorice and spice. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Counoise. Drink now through 2020. 6,500 cases made.-TF
 Vinous 89 points (Sep 2015)
Bright violet color. Vibrant raspberry and cherry aromas, with suggestions of spicecake and candied flowers adding complexity. On the palate, pliant red berry and bitter cherry flavors are enlivened by a hint of cracked pepper that builds on the back half. The incisive finish is framed by fine-grained tannins and leaves a subtle floral pastille quality behind.

Wine maker notes
The Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin de Tablas is a blend of four red Rhone varietals: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Counoise. The wine incorporates fruit from several of the top Rhone vineyards in Paso Robles, each vineyard selected for its quality. Like many red wines from the Rhone Valley, it is based on the dark fruit, mineral and spice of Syrah, with the brightness and fresh acidity of Grenache, the structure and meatiness of Mourvedre and a small addition of Counoise for complexity.
